Peekskill Meteorite Lands in New York

On October 9, 1992, a bowling ball-sized asteroid dropped from space and landed on someone's Chevy Malibu in Peekskill, New York.

Thousands of individuals on the East Coast of the United States observed the Peekskill meteorite blaze into the heavens over Kentucky.

It travelled through West Virginia and Pennsylvania before colliding with a parked automobile

When Knapp went to investigate, she discovered a hole in her car's trunk and a smoking-hot meteorite beneath it.

She had just purchased the car for $300 and had sold it for $10,000 after it had been wrecked.

To clarify, the X-15 took out from Edwards AFB under the wing of a B-52 before being airdropped over Delamar Dry Lake.

Incorrect wording. On July 17, 1962, Bob White did not establish the global altitude record.
