Barcelona will celebrate Drake becoming the first artist to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify wearing a special jersey against Real Madrid on Sunday.

The La Liga giants are sponsored by Spotify but will replace the streaming service’s logo with the Canadian rapper’s OVO owl logo for El Clasico.

It is part of the strategic objective of Barcelona and Spotify to “unite football and music”.

“This doesn’t feel real, but it is,” Drake, 35, said in Instagram.

Xavi’s team will wear the four-time Grammy winner’s signature logo shirts during the match, but for the warm-up they will wear shirts with the Spotify logo on the front and ‘Drake 50’ on the back.

“Our alliance with Spotify goes beyond a mere business relationship. It is a strategic relationship through which we seek to bring together two worlds that can arouse emotions: music and football”, said Juli Guiu, vice president of marketing for Barcelona.

“This initiative is one more example of this will and the innovative spirit of our collaboration.

“For the first time in our history, we are replacing our title sponsor’s name on the front of the jersey with an internationally acclaimed artist, Drake.

“This initiative shows our potential to become a unique platform to deliver experiences that help us get closer to our fans and reach new audiences around the world.”
